Natural History museum London

Het Natural History Museum (NHM) in London is the biggest natural historical museum of the United Kingdom. It has one of the biggest natural historical collection in the world. It got its entrance on Cromwell Road just like the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert museum. The museum is free to visit you can give a voluntary gift.



























There are different subjects in the museum. With as main collection the dinosaurs. The library of the museum has many books, newspapers and artworks. The NHM opened in 1881 the collection of the museum came from the British Museum. The department of natural history in the British museum needed more space but the site was limited so they separated the museum from the British Museum. 

 














The NHM has a facade typical of high Victorian architecture. The mouldings represent the past and present diversity of nature. The architect of the building is Alfred Waterhouse. He inspired his design on the building style from the Continent.
